TOPIC: BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE

Marriage is created for our enjoyment.
A successful marriage is a home where peace, joy, love, acceptance, harmony and tranquility reigns supreme.
Children are obedient and godly where Christ is the head.
A successful marriage is heaven on earth.

Guidelines For A Successful Marriage

1. Effective Communication Read Proverb 14:1 and Prov 15:2&4. Three types of communication are;
i. Communication with yourself:
ii. Communication with your spouse: Read Psalm 128:1-3: eat together with your spouse, sleep together, talk together and visit together, discuss problems together
iii. Communication with God: search the scriptures and pray over every challenges. Also watch over your children and communicate with them. Plan your spiritual development together. Never pile up offences unresolved.

2. Learn to admit your mistakes. Humble yourself and apologize.
3. Never allow your extended family to rule your home
4. Handle money judiciously.
5. Tolerance, patience and appreciation is important in every marriage.
6. Avoid infidelity in your marriage . Read Hebrews 13:4
7. Train your children together. Read Proverbs 22:6
8. Prayer is key.
9. No selfishness in Marriage.
10. Avoid external forces.
